Visual Symphony

Following the pace of great industry, the modernism art in 20 century have affected every detail of our daily life. Differing from any other art style, the important character of this campaign is abstraction and series of practical activities around the abstract. According to its self value, the abstract art have verified that the classicalism is powerlessness under the modern industrial society. It has catered to the artery on criticizing the staleness concept beyond the situation of social great development at that time. Being an important field of abstract art, the abstract paintings have very important research meaning. The works which were full of beautiful things in eyes have exhibited the transience and width in mental world of abstract art and also have their visual charm. It is very obscurity to analyze it drastically. Maybe we could explore some clews by studying the musical characteristics and recognize it from a new angle.This article attempts to analyze and prove the existence of the musical characteristics of the abstract art through three esthetic characteristics of music. In abstract art, basic elements such as spots, lines, surfaces, colors and so on work as the"absolute sound,"and then integrate together to express"movement"through musical characteristics, thus a process of time and space is constructed. In combination with the"recessive structure"in a universal spirit,"autonomy"and"self-flow"are expressed. The artistic sublimation is realized while the initial primitive sign information was raised to a philosophical scale. The biggest practical significance of the musical characteristics to abstract art is therefore achieved.
