The agriculture society started to transform into the industry society of Western Europe during the later middle Ages. The transition is not accomplish in an action, It is the result of many factors. The improvement of the agriculture productive forces were the important pushing factors. Since 6 century, the agriculture of Western Europe had improved and developed step by step. Improvement of dead stock, of cultivating manner, and of agriculture motivity increased farm produce. The improvement of the agriculture productive offered stabile base for the other fields, and force them to development. But when we emphasize the effect of agriculture, we shouldn't ignore the other factors. Commerce renaissance and rise of cities were the important pushing factors of the transition of society. The improvement and structure of the agriculture productive influence the status of peasants immediately, changed economic strength and status of peasant, at the same time change the ideology of peasant. From the perspective of transition of society, the text mainly introduces and summarise the improvement of the agriculture productive forced the transition of society and the characteristic of it., and analyzes the influence of non- agriculture factors, including rise of cities and Commerce renaissance. Accordingly discusses the status of peasants in this period.
