Zhang Jie's novel No Word is a work of great valuable. The author has paid much painstaking effort for her work. In the novel, the author has thought of the relationship between person and history. She has written the coexistence of existing and suffering and also questioned the life significance of human-being. The subject of No Word is beneficial to the development of Chinese contemporary literature. But there are a lot of questions in the research. Many people have wrongly understood its connotation. I think it is necessary to criticize it exactly. This article analyzes the writing technique and the mental connotation of No Word in two aspects in which we can realize that the author's attitude to human nature, destiny, nation and history, one is text narration and the other is history narration.In the part of text narration, this article used the narratology to analyze the point of view, time and irony of the novel. In this section, we can see that the author's attitude is complex. Readers can understand the content by the analysis of form. In the part of history narration, the main idea is the personalized history narration, the narration of human suffering and the searching to the humanitarianism. The intrinsic meaning of the novel has been thoroughly explained in this part.
