The female images of Tang Dynasty's figure painting have distinctive characteristics like as curved eyebrows and round faces, and the theme of it can be classified as describing the lives of aristocratic women.The preface includes a brief academic history of the female images in Tang Dynasty's figure painting as well as the objective and methods of the research. Centred on Tang Dynasty's JuanZhouHua[å·è½´ç”»], this paper wants to focus on the changing course of the female images, so as to further discussing what made these changes in Tang Dynasty.In the first chapter, this paper wants to analyze the female visual image features of Tang Dynasty's painting. Based on the statistics of the female images in Tang Dynasty's figure painting, the changing course of the female images can be described clearly in this chapter. Five paintings will be chosen as samples to describe five interesting kinds of lives of the aristocratic women in different times of Tang Dynasty.Aesthetic features of the aristocratic women in Tang Dynasty's figure painting will be discussed in the second chapter. As we all know the aristocratic women in Tang Dynasty's figure painting should be the reflection of Great Tang Dynasty's spirit. The changing of the aristocratic women's features accompanied by the development of aesthetic social trends in Tang Dynasty. Powerful national strength and economic prosperity as well with cultural fusion and advocating of the ruling class were the direct factors that made the aristocratic women features more popular in Tang Dynasty's figure painting.The function of image and Tang Dynasty's ethics and social problems reflected in the Tang Dynasty's figure painting will be discussed in the third chapter. Any painting is the reflection of its time. So we can conclude that the aristocratic women in Tang Dynasty's figure painting were the vivid portrayals of palace lives as well as the reflection of the social lives of that time. Ethics correctional function of these aristocratic women in Tang Dynasty's figure painting will be stressed in the last.As a conclusion, the aristocratic women features in Tang Dynasty's figure painting undoubtedly were the refraction of Great Tang Dynasty's spirit.
