The Plight Of The "aesthetic Existence"

Zhuang-zi's thought is a contradiction combined by two opposite sides. One is the reality of the "human's plights" which is associated with " a world of degradation"; another one is a life of poetry, which is an ideal environment for survival conversing to the painful life. The combination of the ideal surroundings and the realistic painful life causes the birth of Zhuang-zi's thought. As a result of this, the Zhuang-zi's thought is more or less a paradox composed of the "painful life" and the "ideal life". In China, the Zhuang-zi's thought is called "Dao". For one thing, the "Dao" is a path to guide the people to ease their burden in order to be more poetic, realizing a change from a busy daily life to a simple one; On the another , Zhuang-zi follows his belief of being simple and natural, brought up unique views about life in succession, containing the thought of being tactful in getting along with others, simple in everyone's mind, harmonious in getting along with the world. In his view, his belief can help the public to find out their dignity and nature, and to lead a life of "full of merit, yet poetically, man dwells on this earth". The Zhuang-zi's thought is not so much practicable as Utopian, meanwhile, it will be helpful to sustainable development of the society. However, the answer to explain the contradiction can only be found out in Marxiam.With the help of the method of "returning back" in history studies and "opening new" in philosophy, as well as the development of today's social science, this article associate the track of history with today's reality in order to get a more clearer view to the "esthetic survival". In brief, based on Zhuang-zi's thought, we do every effort to seek a simple life which is poetic and aesthetic, "Full of merit, yet poetically, man dwells on this earth".
