Along with the economical development, snacks become more and more popular in China. However snacks are not living necessity, an attractive package is critically important for producers to draw attention of potential customers, and increase their purchases. The aims of this paper are to investigate the originality of interest of the packages, and to find out solutions to improve attractiveness of package of Chinese snacks. To do this, I studied the package of various kinds of Japanese snack productions and compared with Chinese productions. From Aug. 2004 to Jan. 2006, the study was carried out in Japan. I collected information from Japanese literatures and various productions of Japanese snacks. I overviewed the current situation of package of Japanese snacks from following aspects, including packaging category, packaging style, packaging quality and idea of ecol-package. Since the attractiveness of package is involved in the production itself, I further introduced several popular Japanese productions. These successful packages attracted potential customers through various designing factors, such as color, image pattern and shape, as well as from the entire design of the production. Compared with those of Japanese productions, the package of Chinese snacks should be improved by adapting psychology and demand of potential domestic consumers. An improved package will not only satisfy potential customers, but also will bring more benefits for the producers.
