In Wumingshi's novels, poetic flavor is always accompanied by philosophical thinking. Based on his particular understanding of the freedom of life, Wumingshi created a unique aesthetic art world by focusing on beauty in his works. He is of extremely enthusiastic aesthetic style, keeps on seeking for the nature of life, experiences aesthetics and explores the poetic philosophy. All these show the aesthetic tendency of his endless pursue of life truth. This paper reviews Wumingshi's novels in the angle of life philosophy, displaying his thought, aesthetic style, inimitable artistic exploration of Chinese modem novels and his contributions to Chinese literature.The point of this paper is: free will of life leads to the construction of aesthetic life and art in Wumingshi's novels. Three chapters are arranged to discuss the life patterns in his novels as well as the aesthetic problems. Chapter One mainly talks about the development of his free will of life in the conflicts and blending of Chinese and western cultures. At the same time, with the end of "May Fourth Movement" and the despair of Chinese scholars on their way to seeking the final value of life, Wumingshi founded his mental base to construct and realize his dream of free life. Chapter Two shows the procedure of Wumingshi's pursue of the truth of life. He paid much attention to man's living conditions by experiencing life in his special way and tried to discover the secret and nature of life, thus completing his seek in life. His novels managed to show the truth of life through narrations, such as love stories, imaginary narrations and female narrations. In Chapter Three, Wumingshi's free will of life results in the completion of his construction and transcendence of aesthetic value in his novels. This chapter also discusses his position and value in Chinese modern literature in terms of literature history. The conclusion comments Wumingshi's thought and works generally and discusses his contributions to the development of Chinese modern literature.
