China is a unified multi-ethnic country, where all the ethnic groups have cultivated their own splendid culture manifesting in unique artistic forms. Having been sumitted to the rigorous selection by history as well as the continuous revision by the mass, each form has evolved to be the essence and the most representative part and most dynamic drive of that particular culture. Living in the northern part of China, the Ewenk nationality has a long history, with the reindeer culture at the centre of its hunting culture. Time-honored, its folk song is the accumulation and growth of the traditional art and the fruit of the collective work of the Ewenki working people as time lapsed.Submitted to the twists and turns of the evolution of history and society and varied natural environment for their existence, the Ewenki people are living in different areas where they are engaged in various production works. Hence the characteristics of their folk songs are distinct and the singing methods and techniques, an expression of the features of their music, are different from each other slightly. "Tsandolarga", one type of the Ewenki folk songs, is the umbrella name of the Ewenki popular ditties and folk songs. Being sung at the time of working, of missing their relatives and of launching the rites, these songs are melodious and expressive of emotion. Such folk songs as "The Golden Yalu River", "The Song of Marriage", "The Song of the Female Deer", "Goldenpearl and Pearliar", "The Song of Ewenki Dance" are still popular today.
