Many writers explored deeply and enquired durably to"Human"essential question, to ultimate question of the humanity exists and human nature question in modern China .This is a important spiritul phenomenon.Their ponder had made an extremely important contribution to the development of modern China thought. Among them, Xu Deshan and Wang Tongzhao proceeded from their life experience and energetic need. they had Carried on a thorough thinking about the human"existence",about the ultimate significance of the humanity existence and human's transcendence spiritual pursuet.This article tries to Carry on relatively study about earlier period novel creations of Xu Deshan and Wang Tongzhao from the angle of life philosophy to discover the writer's quests who appeared during the May 4th Movement about human survival question .Life philosophy used here concerns about the life valuesand its meaning. It is a kind of philosophy attitude to the life. Although the philosophy of life is one the concept which introduced from the West, the elaboration bout life philosophy had existed since ancient times. Xu Dishan and Wang Tongzhao were influenced by traditional cultural deeply, their novels took trace of having Chinese traditional life philosophy to different degrees. But they lived in China and the West cultural exchange collision time,the life consciousness in the West philosophy had also affected their creation.This article is divided into three parts:Part: Attention to and closely examined the survival difficult position.
