Starting from the description of Badashanren's life, this thesis analyzes his painting from two aspects as the expression on spirit and characteristic expression by formal languages, and specifically analyzes his works from several aspects: sense of tragedy, expression of humanity and characteristics, symbolism, and characteristic expression on composition, shape as well as brush and ink. so as to examines the traditional scholar painting in a modern manner and analyzes its importance.
