This dissertation focuses on the research of the ecological creation thought of Jurgen Moltmann. Now human race is at the beginning of the new millenary, the past 20th century gave us tremendous progress in human civilization. With the hoping to new century, we also have to face the fact of ecological crisis. The environment turns worse, more and more people but less and less resource in the world, the ecosystem is unbalance. Facing the serious situation, many scholars are looking for the solution of this problem.Jurgen Moltmann, as a theological scholar paying attention to the reality, considers the ecology crisis with a religion standpoint. After the observation of the situation and root of the crisis, Moltmann said that to some extent the culture tradition of Christianity should be responsible for today's crisis, because it brings the view of anthropocentrism and provided a misunderstanding of God, it makes us think ourselves as God and the lord of nature. He seeks the ways of linking human beings and nature with the help of the living God in a living world. Moltmann has developed his Trinitarian views of God through reinterpreting the Bible and put forward his ideology of ecotheology. This dissertation contains five parts. First of all, it generalized the life and theological thought of Moltmamm. Then, on the basic of the crisis situation, he gave the solution. He provided a "participatory" or "communicating" knowledge and suggested that we have to see human and nature as a community in Trinitarian positions. He emphasizes the significance of the Sabbath, thinks of it the culmination of God's creation. At last, this dissertation compares Moltmann's ecological creation thought with ecological knowledge in LaoZi of Chinese, then find out the same ecological knowledge about the earth existed in deep tradition between the culture of east and west. It is valuable in the contemporary era.
