Feiyu The Narrative Mode

Bi Feiyu is a potential writer. All of his works are the thinking of society and humanity with distinct characteristics. The thesis attempts to solve the following two issues. Firstly, what are the main story-telling patterns and what are the forms of them among the writer's works? Secondly, what are the strategies that the writer used in controlling the characters and affairs to affect the progress of the stories?The first part mainly has to do with the generalization and analysis of the story patterns as well as exploration of standpoint, basic point and theme appeared in his works. Bi Feiyu's creative writing is to write"hurt"and"pain"of man and society under different linguistic context. As a result, his works presents a total pattern -"hurt"and"pain", which is reflected by three kinds of concrete patterns. The first one is history revert pattern which analyze how the write presented hurt of man and society under linguistic context by questioning metaphysical history and describing physical history. The second one is complementary patter of urban and rural areas, which tries to display people's survival dilemma by the writer's description of urban and rural opposition. The third one is totalitarian pattern, which tries to analyze how the writer expressed people's desire and hurt under it by taking"the Culture Revolution"as a descriptive background.The second part is concerned about the analysis of how the stories were constructed and narrated so as to how the theme immerged in the text. The construction of the stories is analyzed in terms of the character strategy and the event strategy. In the character strategy, the author mainly analyzes pain of survival of"edge people", life pain of female and pain caused by other ones. In the event strategy, the author mainly analyzes"fact-manage-character"and"character-lead-fact"and"light instead of heavy". As to the narration of the story, the thesis makes a concrete analysis of"further change"of words and"shadow figure"description. Thus, Bi Feiyu successfully demonstrated his story patterns and theme.Through Bi Feiyu's fiction narrative pattern analysis, readers may be more in-depth understanding the intrinsic link between the texts and theme.
