In the 20th century Magic-Realism thrived in Latin America and influenced both the East and the West. China was the last country that was influenced by it. But the latercomers surpass the formers. The reception of Latin America Magic-Realism of Chinese contemporary literatus was characteristic and fruitful. Thereinto, the creating fruit of Heyu writers'novels was the most prominent. Yellow River is the cradle of our nationality. Heyu is my abbreviation of the drainage area of Yellow River. It includes Qinghai, Sichuan, Gansu, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan and Shandong Province; also includes most of the areas of Tibet and Xinjiang. The literature of Heyu have obvious regionally features no matter in ancient times or at present, no matter the mainstream or the folk that it makes it possible that we analyze the regional cultural background of the Magic-Realism novels.The thesis introduces the Heyu writers A Lai, Hong Ke, Chen Zhongshi, Jia Pingwa and Mo Yan and their representative works, it also analyzes the production, genre, life field and characters of the Heyu Magic-Realism novels of the turning point of the centuries; points out that the refulgent achievements shortens the distance between Chinese literature and world literature to some extent. The whole thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter mainly analyzes several representative conformations of Magic-Realism of Heyu novel creating: A Lai's mysterious Qiangzang novels, Hong Ke's wild new Xiyu novels, Chen Zhongshi's agrestic Magic-Realism novels, Jia Pingwa's Shangwu Shangzhou Novels and new city novels and Mo Yan's Gaomidongbeixiang novels. The second chapter gives a particular explanation to the unique regional cultural background through the Heyu writers'"life field".
