Considering teaching material, teaching concept and teaching syllabus, traditional HNSPT has been received for a long time the traditional notion and contents of professional piano teaching without its outstanding features. Affected by the professional piano teaching, it has the problems of relatively onefold teaching contents, no specific teaching aims, paying little attention to cultivate the application of the skills and weakness in cultivating students' practicing ability. China' s current HNSPT experiences four distinguishing changes. These are the change in high normal school students' the whole quality, the change in society' s demand of music education, the change in society' s demand of HNSPT and the change in society' s demand of traditional teaching activity.China' s high normal school music education major' s training aims are all-around development in morality, intelligence and physical health and mastering basic theory, knowledge and skills of music education, and being highly qualified music education teachers based on practical ability and education research ability.
