Applications Of Modern Experimental Techniques In The Study Of Ru Ware Zhanggongxiang Of Kiln

Ru kiln is the first one of the five famous kilns-Ru, Guan, Ge, Jun, Ding in Song Dynasty. Although its producing time is very short, Ru porcelain's artistic value is known to the entire world. In 2000, the central baking area of Ru Guan kiln ruins was found in Qingliangsi Village, Baofeng County, Henan Province. Where the ruins of Guan kiln of Northern Song Dynasty are has remaining controversial. In 2000,a kiln site was discovered in Zhanggongxiang, Ru Zhou City, Henan Province. By the preliminary excavation of the Research Institute of Henan Cultural Relic and Archaeology, it is found that there are not only the samples similar to those of Qingliangsi kiln, but also the important samples different from common Ru Guan kiln in Zhanggongxiang kiln site, these samples are similar to Guan porcelains which were handed down from the ancient times. Some researchers related this fact to Guan kiln of Northern Song Dynasty. The character of Zhanggongxiang kiln still remains to be confirmed. So we study the relation between Zhanggongxiang kiln and Qingliangsi kiln has very important archaeological significance.In this work, we selected the porcelain shards of Qingliangsi kiln and Zhanggongxiang kiln as our research objects. The ingredients of body and glaze materials of these shards were determined by PIXE and NAA technique. The dominant wavelength and colourity values of the glaze colour of these porcelain glazes were determined by colour analyzer. We also used SEM technique to observe the microstructure of these shards. Then we obtained some results as follows:We used scatter analysis, fuzzy cluster analysis and factor analysis to analyse the data of the ingredients of these shards that were determined by PIXE and NAA technique. The results show that the materials of massive Ru Guan porcelain body and Ru Civil porcelain body are the same and the producing area of raw material of them is concentrated. A majority of the body samples of Zhanggongxiang kiln have the same producing area of raw material, but it is relatively scattered. The producing area of body material of Zhanggongxiang kiln is different from Ru Guan porcelain and Ru Civil porcelain. The materials of Ru Guan porcelain glaze and Ru Civil porcelain glaze are different and the producing area of raw material of Ru Guan porcelain glaze is concentrated.
