Chapter Two mainly probes into the narrative devices in constructing the Fox World. Chapter Three explains why Ji Yun recounts fox tales in his book. In the conclusion, the thesis emphasizes the artistic value of fox tales in Yuewei Cottage Notes and summarizes the characteristics of its themes, narrative language, and plot arrangement in comparison with other contemporary works. Beside, the influences and reflection of inner and outer factors in his writing are also summed up.
