On The Old, Of Zhuang Naturalistic Values ​​of Life And Its Modern Significance

This paper discusses the viewpoint on life value of the Naturalism of Lao Tzu and Zhuang Tzu systematically, which takes "Nature" as its life value faith, takes " Simple " and " Real " as its life value orientation, takes " Non-being " as its means of life value and takes "Respect to Life " as its last life value. It stands at the altitude of "Tao" and criticizes the normal viewpoint on value in then society. It advocates natural, real and simple human nature and optimistic attitude towards social relations;it also emphasizes man's characteristics and spiritual freedom. These ideas are good supplement to the defect of the life philosophy of Confucianism and offer a new way for harmonious development of individuals and society.Now, China is at a period of social transition. Along with overall open of the society, the Chinese tradition life viewpoint on value is faced with the strong impact of the western life viewpoint on value of which core is individualism. For this phenomenon, people only have two ways to go. The first one is to doubt, negate or criticize the traditional life viewpoint on value without thought;the second one is to be confused and desperate when the traditional life viewpoint on value collapsed. This causes a series of psychological contradictions and conflicts in people. There is even a faith crisis among some people. Meanwhile, modernity, which is embodied in "ration being supreme" and "science and technology being all-powerful", makes people be wild for material, technology and utility. Some people are busy for survival, while the others have lost freedom because they are controlled by the want for material. People's spirits have been overlooked day by day;more and more people fall into the isolated, empty even hopeless spiritual dilemma.This paper reveals that the naturalism life viewpoint on value of Lao Tzu and Zhuang Tzu can adjust people's conditions of body and mind when culture and human nature are alienated now days, that it plays a positive role in resolving social drawbacks. The paper also shows that Lao Tzu and Zhuang Tzu's ideas have unique wisdom and glamour compared with the life viewpoint on value of the western and the Confucianism. At the same time, it suggests that the ideas make great contributions to the vitality of Chinese traditional ethics and the reconstruction of the world ethics.
