This article diScussed QiMu's decisive importance to the politics of Zheng state in the Spring and Autumn Period. The first chapter discusses the rise of QiMu in three parts. The first part recounts QiMu's hard journey to the historical stage. The second part discusseshow QiMu acqui red its monopoly of Qing power: the QiMu families, by uniting to seize power and suppressing other families, finally came to control the state, becoming hereditary Qings. Their rise inevitably led to the decline of other families and the non-ruling families and the weakening of the king's political, economic and military power. This was a common law that governed the polities of the Spring and Autumn Period. The third part discusses the fundamental principle that underlines the power distribution and organization among the QiMu families. The QiMu families established their power order along the line of age, and on this basis further set up the inheriting order of the ruling Qing's seat. This helped to maintain the interests of the QiMu families and the social order. The second chapter describes the political features of Zheng state. It consists of 2 parts. Shortly after QiMu came into power, the political trend in the states in central China began to change: the Qings began to control "Liyue" and the "Zhengfa" power. The QiMu families were certainly ones of them and began to fight among themselves for the seat of the ruling Qing. However, Zheng state had some wise minds such as Zi Zhan, Zi Pi and Zi Chan, who were loyal to the king. They str ived to keep down the powerful families and prevent political unrest to safeguard the state's ability to fight potential invaders. Therefore, the Qimu families were still by and large united, which distinguished Zheng state from other states. This is the first part.Despite the new political trend, power politics still governed the Spring and Autumn Period. The powerful Qings of var ious states still strived to maintain their states' supremacy over others. Zheng, as a weaker state, was under constant threat. However, Thanks to Zheng state' special diplomatic position, some QiMu figures such as Zi Si, Zi Zhan and Zi Chan were able to seize more space for the state's survival and independence through diplomatic means. This diplomacy-or ientedness is another uniqueness of Zheng state's politics. This is the second part.Chapter 3 discusses the relationship between QiMu and the king. Judging by the CaiYi and the military control, the king had the upper hand over QiMu. The outer threat required the king's role in supporting and holding together the state. However, in the later part of the Spring and Autumn period, power politics began to phase out. This led to intensified contradictions within various states. It was possible that there was a serious internal fight among the Qimu families and the king's power also declined. As a result, the days of the hereditary Qings of Zheng state came to an end. Hereditary Qing politics led to the concentration of land and power in a few hands, which paid the way for the forming of centralism in the coming Warring States period.
