J · Hillis Miller, a famous literary critic in America deconstructnism , the remarks of him on "An end to literature" have caused a strong debate in China since the 1990s. This thesis is with intent to explore the causes of both the debate and misread of Hillis Miller' s remarks in China , further more , to study something from Miller. We believe that focusing on the creativity of the native literary theory and introducing the experience from "Other" is the key to far from the Voiceless. This thesis consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, the brief introduction of Hillis Miller and the main viewpoints of him. The second chapter, represent the response of Chinese scholars with a detail. We think the debate and misread of them is the basic way to face Miller' s remarks . The third chapter, discuss the causes of the debate and misread , and represent deeply the meanings and enlightenment of Miller' s theory to Chinese academic circle.
