Since the 1990s ,the debate on the trend of avant –garde literature have experiencedmany climaxes. However , they always give an impression of being too enthusiastic but notsober-minded , for they are short of convincing dialectical thinking , limited within conceptsand power of utterance . In light of the fact ,the thesis first tries to avoid playing downavant-garde literature and to play up avant-grade literature ,i.e. on the basis of organizing thecontemporary thoughts , to analyze a typical case so as to get a general idea of avant-gardeliterature . This is why the author has chosen Bei Cun as a typical case to outline the generalspirit and the trend of avant –grade literature . Besides , the thesis abandons unreasonablepraise and contempt ,and evaluates Bei Cun objectively in view of contemporary thoughtsand indiridual spirit on the basis of his works .Thorough reading of texts , combined by cultural study , is employed in the thesis . Theupper part is on formal research , which focuses on the thorough reading of the texts as wellas the interpretation and summary of the texts in the aspect of narratology;the middle part ison religious writing , and the lower part is on film and TV writing . Thereason for Bei Cun's formal writing is revealed ,his literary ideal is showed and his formalwriting is to a certain extent reflected on and criticized .3,The middle part aims to appraise the conversion of the themes of Bei Cun's novels toreligion . This part unfolds from the outside to the inside :⑴ ruthless life experience . The author first depicts God's kingdom established in BeiCun's writings , then focuses on criticizing the extreme religious salvation , and finally pointsout the conversion is caused by his wishful thinking of heroes .4,The lower part aims to analyze and criticize Bei Cun's film and TV writing in view of therecent unrestrained spread of film and TV .The author first analyzes , mainly from themes andaesthetic attitudes , why Bei Cun inclined to write film and TV works , and then criticizes BeiCun's writings from the literary and cultural perspective . This part mainly reveals theinclination and features of Bei Cun's writings in the word , which is full of desires and wherefilm and TV permeater . The disadvantages of film and TV writing are also made known .5,The conclusion . The author relates briefly the general impression of Bei Cun'snovels ,and points out since Bei Cun is still writing ,we should often introspect when weevaluates him in case that we fall into the traps of absolutism and dogmatism .Undoubtedly , the completion of the thesis is very difficult for a literary explorer . Althoughthe author has tried his utmost , there must surely be some inadequacies . If the thesis canserve as a modest spurt to induce others to come forward with better ideas , the author will bewild with joy .
