Compared with the voluminous and thorough studying of the literature in late MingDynasty, the research in this field of its earlier period has not been attached greatimportance. This article, therefore, seeks to explore into the most influential literaryschool of that period namely, the school of Tai ge, from which the leading memberYang Shi Qi is chosen for intensive study. With a large perspective the author tries toplace his poem into the social, political and literary background to analyses his worksas well as to appreciate them, The necessary relationships between Yang's poems andhis political role can thus be revealed and by analyzing Yang's cultural ideology as atraditional intellectual, his artistic uniqueness in poetry and what that contains canbeen discovered. This topic is to be discussed in four sections.1. Preface-------Whatever exists isContinuing the style of the literature of late Yuan Dynasty, the literature of earlyMing Dynasty has its own unique flavor .The coexistance of five schools in poetry inthe beginning of Ming Dynasty was soon superseded by the leading school, Jiang YouSchool .Its benevolence in morality and leisure elegance in artistic style greatlyconform to the political, ideological and cultural situation in early Ming Dynasty andare beneficial to the consolidation of the new government. Thus the Jiang You Schoolgradually becomes the main power in the literature of early Ming Dynasty .Theflourishing of the school of Tai ge greatly reflects the transmission between the schoolof Tai ge and that of Hang Xi and also the management and standardization of thewhole literary trend by the government .As the school of Tai ge which flourished inthe early Ming Dynasty for about a hundred years, there must be profound andcomplicated meaning and reason for its existence and prosperity .The article intendsto search for the value and meaning of this literary form through the works of theleading of the school of Tai ge .Yang Shi Qi.2.The Literature of Tai ge under "Good governance order of RenXuan"To define roughly the time of literary school is the base for a deep research on thisliterary phenomenon. The literary of Tai ge refers to the literary pattern lasting forabout 100 years from Yong Le to Hong Zheng , which is represented by "San Yang"and flourished during the two most prosperous period of Ming Dynasty , Ren andXuan .The peace and prosperity of these two period provide the School of Taige withthe firmer foundation .The emperors of these two period advocate the Confucianlearning and treat the school well ,as a result the relationship between the emperor andthe officials is very intimate .These are the two necessary requirement for andprosperity of the School of Tai ge .As Ren and Xuan are both very prosperity of theSchool of Taige . As Ren and Xuan are both very prosperous periods, they have 4unique feature---the prosperity in power the intimate relationship between theemperor and officials, the pursuit for the Tang Dynasty and the unification of ideology.These reflect the characteristics of the two periods and the outer environment of theflourishing of the school of Tai ge and also serve as the bedding for our analysis onthe poems of Yang Shi Qi.The poems of Yang Shi Qi can be classified into two kinds, by its ideologicalstyle----one praises then society while one is the leisure poems .The first kind sets thekey note for his poems .The latter is the necessary reasonable complement. These twokinds can also be classified by the context.They all reflect honestly , concretely sincerely and simply the tearful politicalcareer of Yang Shi Qi as a political leader , and his ideal ,belief and the hard processhe experiences for achieving them .And among these the poems of Diligent ingovernment affairs and love the people best represent his ideal of great Goodpolitics politics and his manner as a Confucian scholar .Apart from the social politicaland cultural reason, the form of Yang Shi qi's praising poems has its own inner reasonThe first reason is the great care the government gives him .The Three Yang Group.Yang Shi qi being the leader, risks their lives to help emperor Ren to unify the country.With the help of his teacher, Yang Shi Qi is favored and trusted unduly during the Renand Xuan periods.
