| Confucianism had been the main cultural trend in ancient Chinese history formore than 2000 years and had had a pround influence on the cultural developmentin that it stressed the principle of "rule by morality" and the function of moraldisciplines in human social life. The moral instructional system is established byConfucianism which holds that the chief measure of moral rule is education. Thethesis adopts the documental methology and in the analysis of historical facts triesto combine history and logic. Through the evaluation and research of Confucianeducational system, it is possible that we cound find some new perspectives inregard with our modern education.The first part of this thesis relates the historical and cultural origin ofConfucian moral education system. It is pointed out that the ancient Chinesesociety stepped to nation system right through slavery society, thus according itthe features of primeval Asian countries. In West Zhou dynasty, Zhou Gong madeYue, rendering the rite more systematical and standardized. In the primitivesociety, morality means the common will of the clan. When examined specificallyat the school education at that time, it is found that the "six expertise" of Xi Zhouhave been influenced deeply by the moral rule, carrying some moralizedcharacteristics.The second part relates in detail the maturity of this moral rule educationalsystem in pre-Qin dynasty. There are four methods to apply this educationalthought: the moral education toward the rulers, the liegemen, the educators andthe mass. The contents of the four educations are different according to thesubjects. Then the thesis introduces the ways to realize the moral rule education,that is, by classic works, by the rite, by music and by the person himself. The fourways are supplementary and indispensable.The third part sums up the main points of the Confucian moral ruleeducational ideology. The basic point is to emphasize the importance of people,the core value being the people. The method to realize this educational ideal is tocultivate one's won morality, to take harmony as the ultimate aim, to exercise therite in every respect of social life and to take humanity as the educationalemphasis, that is, in the educational practices, humanity is always the ultimateaim.Conclusion is a general review of Confucian moral rule educational ideologyfrom the educational conception, aim, objects and ways of realization. It alsostates the enlightenment that we might have through the research on Confucianmoral rule educational ideology and its significance on our contemporaryeducation. |
