Emile Durkheim(1858-1917) is a famous sociologist and educationist of France in the turn of 19th—20th century . During his time, France was undergoing the time from traditional agricultural society to modern industrial society. He explored the reason of moral crisis, which turned up in the transitional period in France and proposed a systematic solution of replacing religion with secular morality, which announce the direction of and provide theoretical basis for modern moral education development. So far as I can see , it is worthwhile to study on Durham's theory of moral education that surly be a nice reference for China which is experiencing the transitional period from traditional society to modern society and facing much moral confusion and educational problems.There are three chapters in my paper:Chapter one: A brief introduction to Durham's life and the social background and academic basis of his theory of moral education.Chapter two :Recount Durhams moral education theory which includes four parties: "theory of moral secularization" , "theory of moral key elements" "indispensability and possibility of moral education" and "school moral educational theory" .Chapter three: Explain the modern value of Durham's theory of...
