In the late 16th century and 18th century, many western priests came into China with them the western culture also came to this long civilized old country. This thesis studied Chinese western learning literature which was translated and written by catholic Jesuits with the help of Chinese scholars from late 16th century to 18th century, which is during late Ming Dynasty to the mid-Qing Dynasty. In the view of document and communication science, the thesis analyses the imported documents in all rounds.There are four chapters in the article. In the preface to this article, introduces the reason why choose it and the up-to-date developments in this thesis. The second chapter discusses the historical and cultural background of China and western country. At that time, china was still under the control of federal. While many European countries began to the periods of modernization. Then analyses the differences of Chinese culture and western country, all of the differences show that there are necessary to culture communication.The second chapter reviews the history of the western documents. It including three periods: 1582-1644; 1644-1722; 1724-1783. There are characteristics of each period. Because of different language and culture, the way to producing the documents have to depend on cooperation. Jesuits and many Chinese scholars translated the western documents. As a type of documents, all the western documents have their general characteristic, but they have special characteristic as well. There are two categories of documents: religious literature and technological literature. All of the religious literature has the characteristic that trying to cater tothe Confucianism and resist Buddhism.The third chapter deals with the western documents from the view of communication science. Communicators, receivers, the ways and means of western documents producing ,the methods of communication, and so on. Jesuits were the communicators, Matteo Ricci was one of the most famous priest. Xu Guangqi was the representative to receivers. Then the article discusses the ways and means to documents producing, during the late 16th century and 18th century, western literature have been published in many regions. Such as Macao, Nanchang, Peking, Hangzhou. Peking has become the most important region. There are four ways and methods of documents communication at that time. In the end, this part analyses the influence factors of document communication.The last part discusses the influence of western documents in China and all the other southeast Asian countries, such as Korea and Japan. These western documents have influenced on Chinese society in many facets: religion, culture, idea and technology. The western documents that were translated or written by priests were imported in Buddhism Cultural Circle through many ways and methods. These documents had great influence on Japan and Korea.
