As we know, the Political Party System originated from Britain in the world. Afterentering the 20th century, The British Labour Party grew up sharply .It had replaced theLiberal Party and become the other Political Party that takes in power with theConservative Party by turns.The British Labour Party's foundation owed to the labour movement in the 19thcentury. The Labour Party was founded to win seats for the representatives of the workingclass, especially those who formed trade unions. However, The British Labour Partybecame the party in office in a democracy mode, which decided the Labour Party had tohold the reins of government in the same way.In the preface of this text, I have investigated the domestic and international scholars'research state about the Labour Party's holding office in recent years at first, and then Iintroduced my train of thought in writting this text.Chapter one discusses the background against which the Labour Party was born. Atthat time, the Election of the British Parliament had become democratic basically, and theTwo-party system had been established too. The Conservative Party and the Liberal Partygained and held power by election in turns, which gradually formed a regular mode. Thenewborn Labour Party was impelled to control political power according to law.The Labour Party has depended on the trade union deeply for a long time after itsbirth. We can know this not only from the Labour Party's formation, but also from theparty's voter foundation, the funding to the party and the party's Constitution.It's true labour's trade union connection brought the party difficulties in achievinglong—term success in winning general election and governing the county effectively.Facing the political challenge came from the trade union, the Labour Party chose tohold power by law. It insisted that the power of governing should be obtained throughelecting lawfully. The Labour Party also persisted in setting up the government inaccordance with the law. After formulating the policy legally, the Labour Party carried itout according to law, which behaved obviously especially when important issues such asthe workers'strike were concerned.
