The modernization is the deep social change course that the human societychanges from the agriculture civilization to the industry civilization; themodernization is not the change of one field, but the change of omni-directionalfields, including economy, politics, culture and social life, etc. Realizing thenation's modernization is the goal that the Chinese people having been pursuingconstantly since modern times. According to the relation between modernrevolution and modernization, the development of modernization is the basicbackground of modern revolution. And the revolution is inevitable requirementof modernization; the revolution's finial purpose is to open up the road for thedevelopment of society modernization.The national revolution occupied an extremely important status on ournation's modern history, it regarded overthrowing the rule of imperialism andBei Yang Government as the goal, gave a heavy blow to imperialism and feudalism,and accelerated the development of the nation's society modernization. But inthe past study about the national revolution, researchers always studied it fromthe angle of revolution or class struggle. This thesis is to judge the nationalrevolution's value from the angle of modernization, and to analyze the influenceof it on our nation's society modernization. From the analyses of the nationalrevolution'value to society modernization, we can summarize the experience ofhistory development, draw helpful historical enlightenment, and we can furtherknow and grasp the law of society development, so as to serve for socialismmodernization of today. This is the ultimate purpose of this thesis.Engels once pointed out:"We should not look for the ultimate reasons ofthe changes of society and politics from the people's head, and should not lookfor them from people's increasingly promoted understanding of eternal truth andjustice , but should look for them from the changes of the mode of productionand pattern of exchange."Analyzed from the angle of modernization, the real reasonof the national revolution was that the development of society modernization wasfettered by the rule of Bei Yang Government. The national industry changed fromtransient prosperity in the period of the First World War to desolation and thesemi—colonization of agriculture economy, the stop of the development ofdemocratic politics, progressive values were hindered by feudal traditionalculture, All these showed that the development of society modernization wasfettered seriously. The national revolution was inevitable to open up the roadfor the development of modernization. And this is the real reason for the riseof the national revolution. To analyze the value of the national revolution to society modernizationnamely is to analyze the influence of the national revolution on societymodernization, namely to understand the meaning of the national revolution fromthe angle of modernization. This is the main part of this thesis. According tothe modernization theory, the value of the national revolution to societymodernization included five parts: preliminary unification of the whole countryand the development of democratic politics; direct promotion and continuousinfluence of the national revolution to national industry; evolution of theideological trend and the progress of education; the change of military systemand early military practice of the Communist Party of China; the change of societymorals and the change of women transformed into modern "people". The nationalrevolution greatly accelerated the development of society modernization. Although the national revolution greatly accelerated the development ofsociety modernization, provided a good opportunity for society modernization,but the national revolution had certain historical limitation, the split of theunified front of cooperation between KMT and the CPC made the leading strengthof modernization divided, so the task of advancing modernization was unable tocontinue.
