She Folk Dance "pass The Teachers Of The Division," Study

The She Folk Dance "CHUANSHI XUESHI , includes all the episodes danced in the "Zuo Yang" rite. It is expressed through dancer's words accompanied by his performance, to reflect the traditional culture of She minority , like its history, religion, custom and so on. It passes on the knowledge of She's history and culture, and imparts the culture of its own minority to a young generation. It is the main performance of "RU SHE" rite, in which men of She minority offer sacrifices to their ancestors, learn from them, and pass on the living skill. This performance is a kind of primitive religious activities held from generation to generation, something like the rite for boys when they were to be adults in ancient times. It is the core among all the religious activities of She minority. As a cultural characteristic, the folk dance "CHUANSHI XUESHF passes not only the pure dance performance, but also the deeper level of dance culture which reflects She's spirit. The author has done deep research on the She minority living in Lishui, Zhejiang, for more than half a year. Focusing on the folk dance "SHUANSHIXUESHF, this paper tries to dig out the deeper cultural meaning which the She folk dance and its performance stand for, by analyzing the definition of the dance (i.e. the knowledge to dance performance), doing research on dance steps and other related aspects (e.g. social function and historical value), and elaborating the inheritation of dance spirit and its material culture.
