This study focused on the effects of strategies training content (elementary listening skill strategies training, cognitive strategies training, metacognitive strategies training), strategies training method (blind method, informed method), and learner proficiency (low and middle level) on strategies training for the foreign learners. 58 foreign students took part in this study( most of them were Asian students). After one training content , they were given a surprise strategies test, after all training content, the test was given again. Result indicated that (1) training content significantly affected strategies training, cognitive strategies training and metacognitive strategies training were better than elementary listening skill strategies training. (2) informed method was better than blind method. (3)the training content X training method X learner proficiency interaction was significant.
