Through sifting through Xu Zhenqing omnidirectionally, the author gives a complete account of Xu's lifelong literary creation and sums up Xu's consistent poetry thought. While taking into account the thought of Reactionism of Midterm of Ming Dynasty and cultural tradition of Wu Zhong region in a macro field of vision , the author interprets moderately Xu's poetry creation, the cause of formation of his poetry thought and significance of this poetry thought in history of literature and history of literary ideology, at the same time this paper also revolves mainly around such aspects as the background of the times, the culture in the certain region, spells of good or bad fortune in Xu's life, psychology, personality and so on. The exposition of this paper includes three steps. In the first step, the emphasis is to expound Xu's theoretical proposition. Through arranging and researching Xu's work, Utterance on Arts, the author generalizes Xu's general views on poetry as the poetry ontology, the poetry of aesthetics and the theory of poetry creation, and compares with Li Mengyang`s literary thought as well. In the second step, the author mainly outlines the developing process of Xu's creative style. With the help of the detailed analysis of his works in the different levels, the author grasps firmly the creative styles respectively, exposes the poetry thought of his works which verifies and complements with Xu's theoretical proposition each other. In the third step, the exploration into the formative cause of Xu's poetry thought at the aspect of regional culture will be the focus. The author decides to start the research of this part at the following aspects, the literators' ethos and the writing style in Wu Zhong region.
