New Road Weekly Study

THE NEW ROAD WEEKLY was originated by some Peking sociologists whobelieved in liberalism. Its initial publication was launched on May15th1948 and terminated by central government six months later. It tookpolitical and economical puzzles into account. Moreover, it helped us torecognize the status through environmental scanning and authors'ideal-realizing via their persistence.In the first chapter, the paper will give us a general figure of thejournal from several aspects: social environment, the process oforiginating, the fate of two authors, edition style etc. Then it analyzeshow the authors seek self-identity in metropolitan-culture-space, andpoints out that their same "charisma idol", education experience,special-knowledge caused them together. At last place the article givesus an introduction of the journal's thought tendency: liberty of speech,separate estate should be protected, a constitutional government and gotsocialistic aim by market economy mode.
