Ethical Dimensions Of Marxist Thought

The theory of Marx connotes a way of the ethical revolution. In the course of the conversion of the modern ethical tradition to the new modern ethical forms, Marx overthrew the modern ethics which is a kind of non-historical forms in the context of history and productiveness on the foundation of the new live-circumstances. And Marx restructured a kind of critical, productive and historical humanitarianism which is different from the modern bourgeois ethics. And thereby , Marx achieved the revolutionary conversion from the modern bourgeois traditional ethics to the proletarian new ethics. In other words, it is a kind of ethics that is how to form a possibility of a true humanly living about people. This ethics also is a kind of historical and productive humanitarianism, which bestowing positive, whole and open connotations on freedom. It emphasized that people should overturn the old oppressive institutions and restructure institutions essentially in order to realize the real freedom, equality and justice. And it bestowed the humanitarian nature which not being grasped by later generations on collectivism.But the new ethics of Marx was covered in long -terms because of dogmatic and positive understanding. So it leaded to some historical debates on Marxist and socialist ethical foundation. It will establish a very clear ethical foundation for the theory and practice of the present scientific socialism when people discover the original spirit of Marxist ethics. And thereby, it will also furnish some foundational academic sources for the moral construction of the present Chinese socialism.The traditional collectivism in Chinese socialist context has separated itself from the present living context by reason of its non-historical discourse. So it should be re-interpreted in the present context .The new collectivist orientation is that it should give prominence to humanistic cares and securities to individual sanctity, freedom, rights and goods. And it should also provide guarantee with the moral legality of its so -called "whole goods". Therefore, the restructuring collectivism will change its orientation that it will regard the frame of institutional ethics as foundation and replenish the pursuit of virtue ethics. It will put stress on constructing the collective virtue and integrate with the cultivation of individual virtue. It is a kind of new ethical pattern of two dimensions which is different from the traditional ethical pattern of one dimension which depended on individual morality. Hence a new collectivism will be established that based on the righteous and humane rule.
