This paper analyzes Confucius aesthetic education thought in detail and transplants "active factor" into the construction of modern aesthetic education thought theory so that it will use the reference for the development of modem society.The paper is composed of five parts.The first part is the introduction, which introduces the present situation of research. It takes Confucian aesthetic education as the important theoretical reference for the contemporary aesthetic education theory and practice.The second part is the discussion about aesthetic education itself. The discussion offers a theoretical foundation for a complete analysis on Confucius thought on aesthetic education and its modern value. The aesthetic education is pluralistic, stereoscopic and comprehensive. The valve of aesthetic education is to provide an ideal guiding line to make people perfect and live a poetic life.The third part is the explanation of Confucian aesthetic education.I.It introduces the background of Confucian aesthetic education. Confucius lived in the late Spring and Autumn period which transit from slave society to feudal society. The period is a disorder, greedy and turbulent period. And it is also the time of human spirit springing and suffering consciousness awakening.2.The basis of Confucian aesthetic education is the analysis of benevolence. Confucian. Benevolence is the noumenon as well as the function. As far as the highlevel is concerned, Benevolence is the spiritual word. However, from the point view of function, means piety to one's parents and love and respect to one's elder brothers. The essence of Confucian Benevolence takes the moral sentiment as its core, concerns about human's development and improvement and considers living significance value and relationship between human and the world. The point is value metal physics, "pursuing Benevolence .achieving Benevolence" should be through the external education and inner accomplishment so that the highest state of "heaven and human will come to one " will be obtained. The highest state of "Benevolence"is aesthetic.3.It is the analysis of Confucian aesthetic thought is the developing and extending of his Benevolence. "Human culture" is the description of Confucian aesthetic education thought. "Culture" is the core concept of Confucian aesthetic education thought. "Culture" means civilization, which promotes human perception and makes people improve from the vulgar and cruel state. And it also means the outside expression of Benevolence and conceives the human ideals and valuepursuing. In Confucius point of view, "culture" expresses as the courtesy and music culture. The main educational way of Confucius is poetry, courtesy, music and "culture". By the educational way of eternal "culture", Benevolence of human is awakened, conceived and defended so that "culture-psychology" construction is formed and gentleman character of Benevolence core is cultivated, i.e. "transforming" is the final purpose of Confucian aesthetic education thought. We generalize the features of Confucian aesthetic education as human culture-oriented, practical ration-oriented and ecological consciousness. The features are manifested concretely; die harmony of sense and ration, and the value ration, human and nature.The fourth part is the evaluation of Confucian aesthetic education thought. Confucian aesthetic education thought is the source and core of the Confucian school aesthetic education thought settles the basic value concept and ideological way for Chinese traditional aesthetic education. It expresses "courtesy and music" principle and aesthetic value concept, which cultivates sound personality and promotes life state. And it also has the active effect in cultivating high state and promoting harmonious human relationship. However, as the individual sentiment is put into the social moral, Confucius doesn't pay much attention on the freedom of individual sentiment and the developing creativity.The consciousness of humanity, unity, harmony and fusion which are conceived in Confuc...
