As the true genius and greatest maestro of classic music in the 18th century as well as one of the greatest music composers in Western, even human history, Mozart had mainly composed and contributed to opera, symphony, concerto, chamber music, etc. However, his works of Lieder should not be neglected. Although Mozart's Lieder are not large in quantity, they are diversified in style, vivid in characteristics, exquisite in tune, precise in structure. Furthermore, some of the classical Lieder by Mozart have been regarded as part of the most important and valuable pieces in Lieder history, they consist of all necessary characteristics of the concept of Lieder in Romantic Period from ways of expression, harmony between lyrics and tune to enhancement and strengthening the value of piano, etc. As a result, Mozart had naturally become the first one mentioned by modern scholars in the topic of 'Lieder'. In the history of Lieder development, Mozart's Lieder had been an untouchable connecting link between the preceding and the following, which indicated the development and glory of Romantic Lieder represented and founded by Schubert in the following days. Mozart's works are widely adopted in vocal performance and teaching, because it requires high skills in legato and uniformity of sound as well as control of sound when singing Mozart's works.
