| This thesis aims at studing the non-tradition rhythm of The Rite of spring which is one of the most important works composed by Stravinsky who is a famous russia contemporary music composer in his forepart. While demonstrating the character of rhythm, the tractate arguments the effect on both the Chinese contemporary music and the west by contrasting.,which purpose is to advise the craft brother to attach importance to the rhythm in the contemporary music,and to provide theory for the perform and justice about contemporary music.the paper consists of four chapters:Chapter I: In term of the character of melody,harmony andorchestration in the Rite of springThis chapter discuss the earmark of melody,harmony and orchestration in the Rite of spring. From this work,we can generalize three kinds of melody and four kinds of non-tradition chord which are the non-tradition music scale ,the non-tradition structure of chord ,the non-tradition process of chord, and the non-tradition tonality. As for the orchestration ,thress factors can be deduced which are the chambered,the texture, and the tone colour.Chapter II: the character of rhythm on both the microcosmic andthe magnificent in the the Rite of springThis chapter include two layers. On the microcosmic side, the way we discuss contain things such as the non-tradition normal beat, the varing beat and the imperiod beat, thepusle rate being in stead of the beat, the rhythm cell,the add notes and so on. On the magnificent side, choosing some typical parts, we analyze two kinds of rhythm structure appearing in The Rite of spring,at the same time,we point out that the two things make the climax form for many times.Chapter III: the leading action of rhythm in The Rite of springThis chapter's contents are three factors which are separatly the fom of rhythm theme, the development and evolving of The rhythm theme, and the rhythm controling the music structer.Chapter IV: Tracing to the source of the rhythm , and discussing the influence ,the development and the varition of it in westcontemporary music.This chapter acts carefully in contrasting, which purpose is to learn the cause and effect of the non-tradition in The Rite of spring. There are four reasons about the origin which are the influence of the russia folk song, the influence of the Eourp music in early time especially in middle ages, the influence of the Isorthythmic motet, andthe influence of the grand old man. Rrfering to the influence,the the development and the varition of the non-tradition rhythm,we argument contents including breaking through the restrainability of time,using the add notes, adopting the rhythm cell,the rhythm structure,and the leading action of the rhythm-Chapter V: treating concurrently of the influence of The Rite ofspring on china contemporary musicWhat we talk about in this chapter is accordance with the last chapter.
