Anh Hung Tran makes the oriental traditional art spirit publicized in film that is the most modern art form. He stands at the humane height which crosses the oriental culture and the west culture, and he obtains nutrition from world art film, then he could make great contributions to the fusion of oriental traditional art spirit and modern film, at last he explores the form and style of oriental philosophic and ideological films full of modem meanings. This article strives to proceed from his film texts, using the way laying equal stress on theory and practice, according to the theory of post-colonialism, mageology and new-historicalism, and regards these theories as basis and foundation so as to analyze his film texts and cultural intension, connecting with the macroscopic circumstances of the development of world films and Vietnamese national cultural tradition , condisering his film creation as an active and two-way systematic process possessing much elucidating possibilities and practical guiding significance, analyzing his film texts in a more wide and reasonable field, combing the inquiry into his "cultural identity" with the comprehensive analysis about his film texts, according to the multiple-level analysis on film texts in "post-colonial" surroundings ,film thoughts, film language and the construction of "cultural identity" in order to deliberate his film creation ail-roundly, thereby makes the price emerge coming from observing "third-world" films, probing world film culture and inquiring into national mentality.
