In later Tang Dynasty, as a cruel political struggle, Ganluzhibian made a group of old officials produce the passive mood and want to apart from the disaster. They came to Dong Du on their own initiative, paid no attention to politics and formed a poet group whose center was Liu Yuxi and Bai Juyi. Forefathers' study on this poet's group is insufficient, and nearly nobody studied it independently. This thesis will demonstrate the all aspects of this group objectively and clearly by studying the reasons that encouraged this group to come into being, describing group's feathers, probing into his poetics, and judging his historical significance. There are five chapters in this thesis.The first, I will research and compile Ruluoji and Luozhongji again in order to prepare the ground for study this group. This work had been done by Jia Jinhua. But not only her conclusions had some careless omission, but also the reductive poems and the chronicles were deserve to discuss. So we must do it again. The second, I will probe into the reasons that the group forms. Introduce the circumstance of each number's getting together and dispersing in detail, their activity time and the center in this poet group. Cast back the reasons which this group formed. The third, discuss the group's characteristic from complex and movable relationships, the thought of following Bai Juyi and idle and right life style. The fourth, probe into the creation of the group's poem from the way of creation, topical adoption and poetic style. There were three parts in topical adoption, sighing over aging with feeling, reflecting quiet living and extolling friendship. Compared with their early writing, the poems in this period appeared different styles. At last, we will pay attention to the historic significance of this poet group.
