| Jazz is the outstanding phenomenon of music culture in the twentieth century. Its style evolution was tied with the movement of age's politics, economy, cultural conception, social mind and ethical moral. The original form is the result of different culture's conflict and fusion. The artistic character such as improvisation and swing feeling was derived from the conflict and fusion between Africa culture and western culture. Jazz, the particular exotic musical culture, is not paid enough attention in the Chinese academic field for long periods of time because of varieties of reasons, so as to result in much misunderstanding. For example, "Jazz is considered as a syncopated dance-music in form", and is related with "Babbitt, philistinism'Y'Abreact physiological emotion" in conception. The cognition about Jazz has great improved with the rising of Ethnomusicology and new research methods in China. But the research doesn't lucubrate not only in musical form but also cultural conception in China.This paper try to anatomize the music culture phenomenon of Jazz from the above two points of view, in order to demonstrate the cultural attribute and social attribute of Jazz, to observe the character that the changing of its main body's practice along with the changing of the social structure, to explain its aesthetic attribute and criticism, to expect the future in the times that the panic symptom of "the Art-Expiry" prevails. |
