The Grand Dictionaries of Chinese Language coming out in recent years were compiled successfully by personnel in south of China and center of China who made great efforts in more than ten years under the guidance of the CPC and the state after the People's Republic of China set up. Drawing the compilation experiences of home, abroad and former dictionaries extensively, they took developments and innovations while carrying on. They unified the radical and indexing eyetem and scored certain achievements in the indexing component and the standard of shape, which established the model for dictionaries that followed.But from the point of ones that "perfect", there are some problems to need discussing in the respect that mentioned above. The object of study in this thesis is more than 21,000 words which are included in the dictionaries. We will take on the contrast .statistics and analysis one by one in the indexing component, stroke count, shape, order of word etc. Meantime we will research the compilation of the dictionaries, probe into their achievements and deficiencies from the angle of the standard of shape.This article is composed of three parts. The first part: introduction. Introducing the situation of compilation, the purport of the book and the present condition of the studying of it. The second part : achievements in the standard of shape that the dictionaries made. In this part, the detailed comparison was made between Kangxi dictionary and them in the quantity of radical and indexing component. The developments and innovations of the dictionaries were evident. The third part : deficiencies in the standard of shape.The aJl-sided comparison was made between the two dictionaries .There are mainly four conditions : the indexing component wasn't unified, the stokes count were collated inconsistently, shapes weren't the same, orders of word were incongruously. The results will be tabulated and contrasted. The fourth part: analysis. In the course of analysis, the author has consulted the relevant national standard and put forward the corresponding suggestions to the problem. The fifth part: conclusion.
