The study into teacher's job satisfaction is very helpful to enhance the school management and stabilize teachers team . But nowadays the scientific tools of scaling secondary school (including middle school and high school) teacher's job satisfaction is being lacked in our nation. A scientific and practical Job Satisfaction Scale for the secondary school teachers in Guangzhou is made up in this study, which promotes the study of teacher's job satisfaction.In the prepared research, the preceding research and the formal research, about 1000 secondary school teachers in 26 secondary schools which are located in 8 districts of Guangzhou were random sampled as the subjects. By the way of literature analyzing, interviewing and investigating, and with the use of some statistic methods such as Cluster analysis, factors analysis and analysis of variance, a Job Satisfaction Scale for the secondary school teachers in Guangzhou was made up, and the measurement traits of the self-compiled questionnaire were probed into in final.The results of this study indicated that (there were three conclusions drawn out in this study following.) there were six evaluation criteria of the job satisfaction of the secondary school teachers in Guangzhou: leadership & management, working condition & resource, colleague relationship, payment & return, occupation identification, and working pressure. The whole scale had good consistency reliability and the Cronbach a coefficient is .9445. Moreover, the self-compiled questionnaire had good content-related validity, construct validity and criterion-related validity. The teachers have higher-level satisfaction in the facets of working condition & resource, colleague relationship and occupation identification, but lower level in the facets of payment & return, and working pressure. The factors about the teachers themselves such as the married condition, the educational level, the title of a technical post, the type of course they teach, the grade they teach in, and the type of schools they work for, can affect the facets of job satisfaction. |
