Tiening is a writer who shows deep concern for the fate and psychology of women. The women's sense of self-identification convers most of her works. From the angle of self-identification, this thesis, which consits of three parts, analyzes Tiening's works and investigates her psychological development. Part One theretically and clearly explains the double backgrounds, i.e. social and cultural, on which the sense of self-identification, caused by modernity and globalization, comes into being. Part Two devides TieNing's literary creation into three periods and discusses vertically her hard journey of looking for the female self -identification, also it sorts out her psychological trace: from poetic self to true self and to good-orientated self. Part Three is an artic probe into TieNing's female self-identification from the angle of esthetic style, narrative angle of view and image.
