Research, Theory And Application Of The Paired Comparison Method

The paired comparison principle is one of the determining methods in fuzzy mathematics. It had been quite often applied into various fields of social science study during 1980s. It is mainly used as a way to evaluate the levels and orders, or relative sizes of certain characteristics of a variety of matters. It can also judge the consistency of the evaluaters and find out whether the criterion is identical.When the researcher applied the dual comparative principle into the analysing process of the design, investigation and conclusion of the "Staff Requirement Assessing Questionair"', she adopted the method of combining logic inference and statistical analysis. considering the imperfection of its theory and application. She summarized a series of more scientific methods of data collecting, processing and statistical analysing. These methods have shown excellent results in the practical usage. Particularly the three factors' analysis models which were drawn from them, could make the differences between indistinct things more clear information, could make their interweaving and permeation possess more transitional formation. Thus, they can be used as the ideal statistical methods towards researches on the understanding differences of the multi indistinct and non-quantitative social things.As the dual comparison principle can make the indistinct things more precise and correct in comparisons, its combined method of logic inference and statistical analysis make the data collecting, processing and statistical analysing more scientific, we can find out that superiority needs the existence of special characteristics, we get this from the analysing of the results of the "Staff Requirement Investigation". According to the standard score of these special characteristics, we take 105 subjects which bear different required characteristics to be tested, then classified and judged. Among them, the correct rate of the judgement of five categories researches 97.1%.According to the research results, the researcher points out that men's requirements have not only personal differences, but ambition or quality differences, that is. the existence of superiority requires the differences of special characteristics. Therefore, the researcher puts forward some new ideas to Maslow's Requirement Level Theory, and puts Maslow's highest requirement, i.e. requirement of self-realization as a narrow sense definition of self-realization requirement, while distinguishing and holding Maslow's narrow-sense definition, she points out the broad-sense definition of self-realization requirement, that is a definition which can be adopted universally into the self-realization requirement of the highest level in special characteristics of various superiority requirement.
