Seeking The Divinity Of Xu Xu Novel

In the modern literature history of Chinese , Xuxu and Wu Mingshi were once called together with the Late Romantic. As a famous writer as Zhang Ailing, he was also criticized widely. But people have paid more attention to the popular character of his novels. So through my thesis, I want to point out that the divinity is Xuxu's real motive to write, not popular character.This thesis is composing of three parts, which shows gradually the progress Xuxu's pursue to the divinity. Chapter 1 is talking about Xuxu's mysticism esthetics and his mysterious narrative in the influencing ways. On the base of the thinking from Kant, Bergson, Freud and Jung, Xuxu formed his own special mysticism esthetics. In his novels, he tried to create a poetry world to find the miracles of the life, and hold the infinity of the nature and life with intuition and archetypal theory to transcend his own life. Further more, his narrative about mystery and illusion added the blank space of Chinese mysterious literature in the 1930s to 1960s. Chapter 2 is trying to appraise the meaning of Xuxu's love myth in the ways of mythology and archetype theory. Through the myth, Xuxu attended to represent the God and ultimate poetically. Love myth reflected Xuxu's deep desire about the land of the living and spirit, which were placed on the Anima archetype who the male thirst for. Death make love reach the ultimate of the life lastly. Chapter 3 is discussing the how Xuxu express his solicitude about life and religion in his novels. He overthrew Christianism and introjected Buddhism and Taoism, consequently he established his new belief, which is the nature should be harmonious.
