Due to several reasons, such as social reforms at the start of the Twentieth Century and the intervention of Western culture ,Modern Chinese Ink Painting underwent notable changes in terms of pictorial composition and the design of form. These changes resulted in Modern Ink Paintings being vastly different from the traditional .the compositional surface become more filled over time. This land of surface emerged with traditional ink painting as its foundation, and bestowed anew image on traditional ink painting, moreover it brought positive meaning to the exploration of form.This paper seeks to analyse how with social reforms and outside influences the characteristics of the composition in Modern Chinese Ink Painting came into being. Furthermore, it will seek to compare the characteristics of Modern Chinese Ink Painting with its traditional counterpart. Resolution: that Modern Chinese Ink Painting in terms of compositional discoveries is positive, and that while laying stress on form, much should d be done to unearth the latent capacity of brush and ink ,moreover to seek uniformity with the spirit of the present times .
