Morandi and Arikha are both the painters who are accomplished in still life; but there are some differences between their works. The paper is intended to distinguish them from three aspects.First, the artistic features of each painter's painting are characterized as "image of spirit" and "image of vision" respectively. Second, the difference in color employed by each painter is: Morandi is adept in using grey and pursues variety in the harmony of grey. However, Arikha likes to employ much highly pure color in his picture.Third, There are similarities in their brushwork. Morandi's brushwork is in full variety while Arikha's is in harmony and purity.
