Ning Diao-yuan is a famous capitalist democratic revolutionary, propagandist, writer and poet in the Chinese 1911 Revolution. His whole revolutionary activity accompanied with the beginning and end of the Xinhai Revolution. He not only took part in the Changsha Uprising led by the Huaxing Association , publicly burying both martyrs of Chen Tian-Hua and Yao Hong-Ye, the Ping LiuLi Uprising and the Second Revolution , but also supervised the publications of the DongTingBo and the Imperial Daily . His national ism thought was very profound. And he made such great achievements in poetry, term and essay that he was praised as a Hot-blood Poetry Soul . The paper will detailedly expound Ning Diao-Yuan's life story and his nationalism thought. The paper contains two parts:In part one, I will divide Ning Diao-Yuan's life story into four periods by his revolutionary activities. He was engaged in early revolutionary activities from July, 1903 to February, 1907. He took part in the ChangSha Uprising led by the HuaXing Association, publicly burying both martyrs of Chen and Yao, PingLiuli Uprising and supervised the DongTingBo and the HanZhi during the stage, making a greater contribution in both revolutionary practice and theoretical propaganda. Ning Diao-Yuan was imprisoned from February, 1907 to November, 1909. He profoundly knew that the homeland was in a crucial moment of life-and-death, life being brief, so he struggled with a will to make the country strong, not forgetting revolutionary cause even he was imprisoned in ChangSha. He gained great achievement in literature as well as in virtue. From March, 1910 to October, 1911, Ling Diao-Yuan took charge of the newspaper of ImperialDaily. He struggled against the feudal stubborned and the Constitutional Monarchy Group in order to spread the democratic and republic thought. And at the same time, he used his legal status to protect secretly the progressive magazines and revolutionists as far as possible. From October, 1911 to Septermber, 1913 he made great contributions during the WuChang Uprising and the Guarding Country Against Yuan . In order to defend the achievement of the XinHai Revolution, he first took measures to assist the WuChang Uprising, then to throw actively himself into the mighty torrent of the revolution against Yuan till he sacrificed his young life.In part two, I will expound Ning Diao-Yuan's nationalism that contains the thought of Anti-Man and Anti-imperialism .About Anti-Man, he combined removing Man with opposing feudalism, and integrated disseminating revolution with opposing constitutional monarchy. He mainly discussed the necessity, means and methods of removing Man as well as revolutionary force. About Anti-imperialism, he fully unmasked the crimes committed by imperialists in China, and analyzed the important reason why imperialism become aggravated with invading China was due to the compromise of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so he advocated to resist the imperial invasion. Furthermore he put forward means of resist invasion. What is a blemish in an otherwise perfect thing is that his thought of Anti-Man contained revanchism, and that he didn't see through the essence of the imperialism at all. He attributed the cause of imperialistic invasion to the Qing Dynasty's Corruption and Weakness. But his nationalism possessed such progressive meaning that it could arouse the masses to revolute and revolt invasion at that time.
