Chagall is admired as one of the pioneers of Surrealism by art historians. Generally, his unique artistic style is considered as an expression of dream and children's interest. This thesis tries to explain Chagall's artistic style once again from the angle of Martin Buber's thoughts of religion and philosophy-the meeting between 'I and thou', in order to reveal the essence ofChagall's art -expression of sincere, eternal love between human andnature, human and human, human and spiritual entity, which is the ultimate aim that Chagall has been seeking all through his life. |
