The study of piano performance is a complicated activity combining both intellectual and physical capacity. It is also the studying and mastering process of the skill. This skill includes two aspects, one is the motor skill of the performance, and the other is the mental skill of the performance, which has dominant effect to the performance. The cognizance skill is embodied in the psychological operations and grasp of performance action, musical elements, musical structure, musical connotation and musical styles, etc., which comprise the whole performance. The cognizance skill directly affects the learners' performance level and it cannot be ignored in the study of piano performance and teaching.This thesis analyzes the learners' psychological behavior during performance and studies those factors about cognizant skill that affect the study of performance, in attempt to find a scientific and effective method which is more suitable to human's thinking characteristics rules to study and search the more distinct, accurate and rapid perception, idea, memory and thought in the piano performance, so as to improve the quality of psychological operations in the process of performance studying as well as the quality of piano studying.
