The Role Of Women In Italian Opera

This dissertation is intended to historically analyze the Italian opera with special stress on the main feminine characters at different times, to try to come to a generalization of the feminine characters at that time in order to reflect different female complexions at different epoch. The standpoint of this dissertation is put on the musical analysis of aria and at the same time the author puts forward arguments and tries to approach to a conclusion. Based on this standpoint, this dissertation is intended to the feminine characters created by composers by the musical base, in order to more clearly appreciate the specialties of females at different times.
