| Lu xun and Shen cong wen are two of the outstanding writers in the Modern Chinese literary history. Their various works not only bring the readers enjoyments but also contain abundant and profound thoughts.The most important part of their thoughts are the enlighting thoughts.The research and comparision of their enlighting thoughts can help us go deep into the two writers' inner world,probe the track in which their individual ideas on literature and art form and the medium by which the ideas are expressed .Moreover,through the research and comparision of the two outstanding representitives during the New Literature Movement,we are able to behold the inevitable relation between development of literature and progress of times. With this reference,the two writers' positions in the modern Chinese literary history will be fixed more accurately.This article consists of threeparts,respectively dealing with three comparisions-comparisions between Lu's and shen's enlighting thoughts,between their ideas on literature and art,and between their characteristics of their novels.I Comparision between La's and Shen's enlighting thoughtsIn this part,Lu's and Shen's enlighting thoughts are worked up and compared while differences and relations between the two types of thoughts are found.Lu's thoughts formed when he was studying in Japan and matured in May 4th Movement period,he searched both inside and outside for the root of national problems and the way they are settled .Therefore,he found his enlighting thoughts focusing on "reforming nationality".Shen's thoughts developed from the unique literary background in west Hunan border area-He tried to work out the track in which humanity developed while he compared the different ways the rural and suburban people live .At the same time,he combined the comparision with his own ideas on hfe.Therefore,he formed the enlighting thoughts centering on "humanity remaking".There are both differences and relations between Lu's and Shen's enlighting thoughts.These differences and relations have something to do with their individual elements but they are the results of the development of society,too.II Comparision between Lu's and Shen's ideas on literature and art.In this part,Lu's and Shen's enlighting ideas on literature and art are worked up and compared while distinction and relation are found and explained from the point of view of the relations between these ideas and thoughts.Lu's ideas on literature and art corresponds to his "reforming nationality" thoughts. The central content of his ideas is "social utility ".Lu regards literature and art as a knife for dissecting the national deep-rooted bad habits and a weapon for fighting.He tries to catch people's attention to the cure of souls by exposing andwhipping-There is a similar sense of social utility in Shen's ideas.Under the direction of his "humanity remaking" thoughts,Shen regards literature as a process of discovering beauty. Though glorifications of the beauty of humanity,he produces the brilliance of humanity Both Lu and shen pay special attention to the sticking to literary personalities,setting against following others.Between the necessity of social fighting and literary rales,Lu prefers the former,sometimes choses truth at the sacrifice of beauty. However,shen prefers the latter,sometimes sacrifices truth to beauty. These are their characteristics but also their limitations.HI Comparision of characteristics of novels.In this part,the comparision between their characterixtics mainly from the following aspects,such as the choices of themes,structure patterns,narrating angles,portrait of characters,linguistic characters and the whole aesthetics styles.We try to find out the different effects which different enlighting thoughts and ideas on literature and arthare on writing manner and aesthetic styles of the two writers.
