On The Meaning Of The Words Tone In Verbal Communication

This paper mainly states the relationship between the addresser and the addressee in the communicative situation,as well as the addresser's communicative intention;that is,the implication of the tenor of discourse in the speech communication. The author analyses deeply the two main parts of the tenor of discourse in the context of situation:personal tenor and functionaltenor,besides the corresponding determinant factors------the main body in thespeech communication and the intention in the speech communication;and also reveals the effects of the above-mentioned factors on people's language employment in the speech communication. By reading the whole paper,the author hopes that the reader can strengthen the speech competence and the speech accomplishments effectively,improve the effects on the speech communication.
